On May 16, 2026, a Lockheed Martin HC-130J Super Hercules Combat King II (registration 16-5863) conducted a training flight from FOK to JFK to FRG. During the sortie, it performed a touch-and-go at JFK at 1:43 PM EDT on runway 22L before continuing on to Farmingdale/Republic Airport (FRG), where it carried out another touch-and-go as part of its training profile. The HC-130J landed at 3 airports in Long Island, including JFK, FRG, and ISP, which gained the attention of many spotters in the area.
