JFK Weekly Flight Highlights

The week was bookended by the U.S. Air Force's Boeing 747-830 "CRANE01," which flew into JFK from Andrews on August 15th and back out again on August 16th, tagged Military + Extremely Rare on both legs. In between, JFK hosted a full presidential movement on August 14th, with a Boeing C-32A "Air Force One," a formation of Marine Corps HMX-1 Ospreys, and two supporting C-17A Globemasters — itself preceded by two additional C-17 pre-positioning flights on August 13th. The week's rarest civilian sighting was Boeing's own Boeing 747-409(LCF) Dreamlifter, which made a highly unusual stop at JFK from August 11th into the 12th (Extremely Rare on both legs), alongside a second appearance from a YunExpress-liveried Atlas Air 777 freighter (Rare) on both August 9th and 12th. Delta's Boeing 757 logged several Rare charter rotations across the week, general aviation traffic included a Rare Beech A36 Bonanza and a Rare Piper Seneca II, and Emirates ran multiple special liveries — including a one-off NBA livery on August 15th. Korean Air Cargo, Silk Way West, and Cathay Cargo all added Rare-tagged 747 freighter rotations, while Cargolux's "Car50lux" 50th-anniversary livery reappeared on August 13th.
